With insights shaped by Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Akilah has emerged as a voice in the Christian community illuminating complex social issues through a Christian worldview.
Her provocative writing challenges conventional thinking, combining investigative rigor with spiritual depth to create writings that provoke meaningful dialogue and personal reflection.
Akilah Holder is an author, speaker and freelance journalist who has spent more than a decade teaching and ministering the Word of God through her writings and public commentary.
Her writing career began with the Trinidad Express Newspapers Woman Magazine, where her articles on social issues from a biblical perspective earned national attention. She later moved into full-time journalism at the Trinidad and Tobago Newsday before returning to column writing with Wired868. Through her work, she addressed a range of social and moral issues, including crime, domestic violence in the church and questions surrounding morality and culture.
In 2016, Akilah published her first book, Apart From Me, You Can Do Nothing: The Spiritual Origins of Mankind, which explored the importance of a relationship with God as the foundation for a meaningful and successful life.
In 2022, she launched the podcast The View (from Heaven), a platform where she discussed various life issues from a biblical perspective and occasionally engaged in Christian apologetics, including the problem of evil.
In October 2025, she published her second book, Heaven’s Viewpoint: God’s Perspective on Various Life Issues, examining topics such as suicide, abortion, politics and morality, education and work-life balance through a Christian worldview.
Following the release of the book, Akilah appeared on The Morning Brew on CNC3 Television in December 2025. Earlier that year, she was interviewed on Breaking Dawn on Synergy TV. She has also appeared on radio with Tony Fraser and has been featured in the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian’s WE Magazine.
Today, Akilah continues to write as a freelance journalist while remaining active in Christian teaching and ministry through her writing and speaking engagements.
Akilah Holder believes in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
She believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who lived a sinless life, died for the sins of humanity, and rose again, offering salvation to all who believe in Him.
She believes that salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and that those who are in Christ are made new—what Scripture describes as being “born again.”
She believes the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and serves as the ultimate standard for truth, faith, and life.
She believes in the ongoing work and guidance of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer.
